Trio trapped in snow rescued in Bani after 4 days

KATHUA, Nov 6: Kathua police has rescued three persons trapped in snow for four days at Noknali Mata in Duggan area of Bani.
According to police, three persons namely Rakesh Sharma, Ganesh Sharma both sons of Uttam Chand resident of Chaloge Bani and Bishav son of Om Parkash resident of Mahanpur, were part of 5-member team which had gone to establish food and lodgment facilitation center at Noknali Mata shrine to facilitate pilgrims in Noknali Mata Yatra scheduled to commence from November 5, 2018. While two members of the team had returned on November 4, 2018, three members got trapped in heavy snow fall, resulting in accumulation of 6 to 7 feet snow all around.
“Instantly after receiving the information, police team of Police Outpost Duggan Bani led by HC Naresh Kumar Incharge Police Outpost Duggan launched rescue operations with the help of local youths and after strenuous efforts and extreme hardship they succeeded in saving three precious lives from the clutches of death,” said police.
“The rescue operation was continuously monitored by both civil and police administration Kathua to provide all assistance to rescue team to ensure no loss of any life. Both civil and police administration appreciated the hard efforts of police rescue team headed by HC Naresh Kumar. Jeewan Lal MLA and Ajit Singh SDM Bani applauded HC Naresh Kumar and his team for successful rescue operation. SDM Bani also recommended police rescue team for suitable reward to DC Kathua,” police added.
Kathua police appreciated the efforts of local youths who did exemplary work along with police in the rescue operation.
