RBI-Govt tussle
Kashmir Times. Dated: 11/9/2018 6:10:23 PM
Dear Editor,
The recent tussle between Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the government is uncalled for -as the rightful actions in the opinion of RBI as per need of the hour are now being questioned by government in public domain. The differences in the opinion of government and RBI should have been treated as an internal matter. The government should refrain from political considerations, if any (2019 Elections are due now). RBI is a professional set up and always discharge its functions competently in the best overall national interest of the country keeping in view growth of economy. The government should not interfere in RBI's affairs to keep RBI's independent autonomy, yes it can guide and have mutual meetings for its needs but should not try to control it / force it's advises in final decision.
