Alok is new IG traffic

SRINAGAR, Nov 13: The governor administration today shifted inspector general of police (IGP) for traffic Basant Kumar Rath and attached him with home guards.
Alok Kumar, IGP security, has been transferred and posted as new IGP traffic.
Rath and newly elected mayor of Srinagar municipal corporation Junaid Mattu got recently engaged in heated arguments on twitter regarding traffic management. Rath told Mattu that traffic management was not his domain.
Rath also targeted Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli for asking a cricket fan to leave India for not liking him but foreign players. Rath told Kohli to keep his nationalism with him and revealed that he loved former Pakistani cricketer Javid Miandad.
Rumours were doing rounds on social media since last night about transfer of Rather. People mostly opposed the move.
“Social media agog with rumours of transfer of Basant Rath@KangriCarrier IGP Traffic; I hope it is not true,” Dr SP Vaid wrote on his Twitter Monday night. “He may follow unorthodox ways, but his honesty and dynamism is appreciable & commendable.”
Vaid’s tweet came in defence of Basant and indicated the tensions within the system. He was himself given marching orders recently and asked to hand over the charge to his junior.
