Mirwaiz placed under house arrest, office sealed

SRINAGAR, Dec 1: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Chairman Hurriyat Conference (M), was today placed under house arrest and Hurriyat office at Rajbagh sealed.
Reports said Hurriyat (M) had planned a meeting of workers at delegates at the Rajbagh office today.
In a tweet, Mirwaiz alleged that the separatists were not being allowed any space for any kind of political activity. He posted pictures of police personnel outside his Nigeen residence as well as the Hurriyat’s Rajbagh office.
“One day #Hurriyat workers /delegate session barred! Put again under #HouseArrest! Rajbagh office of Hurriyat sealed! Not allowed any space or scope for any political activity! So much for practising honest democracy Governor sahab!” he tweeted.
“So much for practising honest democracy governor sahab!” he said taking a dig at governor Satya Pal Malik.
Hurriyat Conference’s Rajbagh office was also sealed to prevent any assembly of activists.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat Conference (M) strongly denounced and ridiculed the authorities for today’s action.
