KISS Club & Associates call on CEC, LAHDC Kargil Ladakh

JAMMU, Jan 10: In view of the upcoming 2019, CEC Cup Ice Hockey Championship in Kargil, the Kargil Ice and Snow Sports Club* along with all the representative of Ice Hockey Clubs in Kargil called upon the Chairman / Chief Executive Councillor LAHDC Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan and put forward their demand to conduct the CEC Cup Ice Hockey Tournament in a more professional Manner, by organizing the event through Kargil Ice and Snow Sports Club in collaboration with all Ice Hockey Clubs of Kargil District for a free and fair tournament ahead.
CEC after giving a patient hearing to the grievances of the delegation, decided to conduct the tournament through the KISS Club under the supervision of District Youth Service & Sports Officer Kargil and directed to conduct the tournament after National Ice Hockey Championship to be held at Leh from 16th January onwards.
Further the delegation also appraised the problem, being faced by the KISS Club as well as other Ice Hockey Clubs of Kargil due to the decision of not including the teams from Kargil in this year’s National Ice Hockey Championship by *Ice Hockey Association of India.
They further told that the organizing committee of the National Championship has ignored the more than 15 clubs of Kargil Ladakh and didn’t called any club or player for trial in State Team.
Feroz Khan assured the Delegation to take up the matter with concerned higher authority and due reorganization for the main contributing areas of India in Ice Hockey i.e Kargil Ladakh will be assured.
It is pertinent to mention here that there is two Ice Hockey Associations in J&K registered in the name and style J&K Ice Hockey Association & Ice Hockey Association of J&K.
J&K Ice Hockey Association was registered in 1994 and many tournaments were organised by this association since Last Year and the other was registered in 2000.
