Mankotia’s statement depicts political frustration: Pawan

UDHAMPUR, Jan 19: “Former MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia’s statement that ex-MLA Pawan Gupta has managed a fake recommendation letter in connection with the demand of Degree College at Neeli Nallah Udhampur depicts his political frustration.”
This was stated by Pawan while addressing a press conference at his residence. During press conference Pawan also distributed the photo copies of recommendation letter which was addressed to Navin K. Choudhary, IAS Principal Secretary to Government, Finance Department, J&K Government under reference number PKG/MLA/U/164 dated 20thOctober, 2018 and the same letter was marked by the Choudhary to the concerning authorities with remarks ‘kindly get feasibility examined for the next meeting dated November 5, 2018.’
Pawan said that he had highlighted in that letter that “being flooded with heavy influx of entrants every year and due to limited intake capacity the existing both PG Degree College and Women Degree College at Udhampur presently having strength of more than 3000 student each are proving insufficient to cater need of densely populated Udhampur city and its adjoin areas as a result of which majority of poor student drawn from these areas are forced every year either to take admission in colleges out of Udhampur town or to abandon their studies in midway.” He stated that he had recommended for sanction of one more Degree College for Udhampur which is proposed to be established at Neeli Nallah (Udhampur) at midway on Jib-Thathi road axis situated 16Km away from Udhampur District HQ in densely populated area, where more than 50 kanals suitable State land has been identified and is available for the purpose which is free from all encumbrances.
While addressing media persons Pawan stated that Mankotia was playing “cheap politics because of frustration.”
He further stated, “Mankotia is trying to mislead the public but people were aware of facts. Pawan disclosed that state government sanctioned 40 Degree Colleges in State and his recommendation was also accepted. He again disclosed that if a Degree College is established at Neeli Nallah and the same will be advantages for the students drawn from more than 30 Panchyats of Reasi as well as Udhampur constituency falling in Udhampur District viz Patta Kotli, Barolla, Neeli Nallah, Upper Hartaryan, Sunari, Jib-A, Jib-B, Kambal Danga, Chak, Padanoo-Kalta, Seen Thakran, Samole, Lehnu, Tikri, Mand East, Mand West, Malhar-A, Malhar-B, Upper Rehmbal, Lower Rehmbal-I, Lower Rehmbal-II, Khartiar, Garnai, Seen Brahmana, Dhanu, Chiryai, Muttal, Jangal Gali, Jassar Kote etc.
