J&K defeats Jharkhand in opening tie

41st Sub Junior National Volleyball

JAMMU, Feb 23: Jammu and Kashmir defeated Jharkhand in opening group match in the 41st Sub Junior National Volleyball (Boys and Girls) Championship being organised by Odisha Volleyball Association under the aegis of Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) at Volleyball Stadium, KIIT University on Friday.
As per the reports reaching here, placed in group-D, J&K boys shall now meet opponents from Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Pondicherry and Uttarakhand in the next league matches.
Earlier, Vipan Kumar, Shubam Sharma, Aditya Munda and Ravinder Singh of J&K remained in limelight for their superb display of spikes and blocks thus make it a straight 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-20) win against Jharkhand. The boy team is accompanied by Naresh Sharma as Coach.
Earlier, the event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Vishal Dev, Commissioner-cum Secretary, Sports and Youth Services Department, Government of Odisha, in presence of Shekhar Bose, Treasurer, VFI and Chairman of Control Committee.
President Volleyball Association of J&K, Sidharth Daluja and other office bearers sent their good wishes to J&K boys’ team and coach for excellent performance in the opening match. They also wished the boys team for better performance in subsequent matches.
