India, Pak trade fire in Poonch

MENDHAR, Mar 10: Pakistan once again targetted forward Indian posts and villages by resorting to unprovoked shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district early Sunday morning.
Defence spokesperson, while confirming ceasefire violation, stated that Pakistan used mortars and small arms to target Indian forward posts and civilian population in KG sector of Poonch district this morning.
“The firing/shelling started around 4.30 hours and it continued for approximately three hours till 7.30 AM. Indian army, however, retaliated befittingly to the violation. Pakistan also resorted to shelling with mortars and firing of small arms,” spokesperson said.
Earlier on Saturday, Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire at Indian border areas at three places along the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border. The violations had occurred at Rajouri, Poonch and Akhnoor sectors of Jammu.
