Schools, colleges reopen after winter vacations

SRINAGAR, Mar 11: The schools and colleges re-opened in Kashmir today after almost three-month-long winter vacation.
The schools were scheduled to re-open on March 4, but the vacations were extended by the divisional administration citing inclement weather.
The winter vacation for students up to class 8 started from December 6 last year while the vacation for students of class 9 onwards started from December 17.
However, the colleges observed winter vacations from December 24 last year.
With the reopening of schools and colleges, the hustle bustle returned in the educational institutions. There was additional rush on roads with the movement of large number of school buses, carrying the students.
