J&K Police hqrs in deep slumber, alleges 658 selected SIs

JAMMU, Mar 12: The 658 selected Sub Inspectors in Jammu and Kashmir Police whose selection process was stayed by HC six months back, alleged that Jammu and Kashmir Police headquarters is totally in deep slumber.
They alleged that J&K Police headquarters has failed to prove before court of law that the selection process was totally fool proof. It was because of the callous attitude of the J&K Police headquarters 658 selected candidates have been deprived from getting jobs in police department.
The 658 selected JKP Sub Inspectors have gone through the tedious recruitment process initiated vide Advertisement notification No. PERS-A-400/2016/75303-403, the result of which was declared on December 13, 2018 were feeling dejected since the status of their appointment order remains uncertain.
The selected Sub-Inspectors belonging to Jammu region pleading anonymity rued that the allegation of mass copying by a few non-selected candidates that too after six months of declaration of final selection list is ‘bogus’ and is a deliberate attempt to rake controversy and dampen the process of recruitment in police department.
They said that aforesaid non-selected candidates have got an interim order passed by the High Court of J&K (Srinagar Wing) alleging mass copying at center with assigned Code No.1171111, thus obstructing the process of issuing appointment order.
They alleged that the ground of writ is baseless as the aforesaid Center Code is affiliated to all the candidates from Jammu District. Quoting some departmental sources, They said that it has come to fore that the selection is around 3 per cent to 5 per cent from all the centers.
The undue delay in this regard is causing mental harassment to the selected candidates who burnt the midnight oil to get into the final merit list, they rued adding that medical and police verification of selected candidates is already over now and they are awaiting the appointment orders.
In the aforesaid case (Service Writ Petition No. 3019/2018) which was first listed on January 11, 2019, an interim order was passed which directed police department to bring on record their reply before issuing appointment orders.
They said that the aggrieved selected students have urged the Home Department to submit their reply before the High court and pre-pone the date of hearing in the month of April as all the selected candidates from Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh are getting adversely affected by this delay.
