Shri Ram Universal School celebrates Sports day

JAMMU, Mar 18: The Shri Ram Universal School, Jammu celebrated Sports day with great zeal and excitement.
On the first day of the event, the sports meet of Junior school was organized. The programme began with the Principal Ritula Singh welcoming the esteemed gathering and emphasized on the importance of sports in a child's life. The meet was declared open by the Chief guest JMC Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta after handing over the torch to the school sports captain. The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the oath being administered by the Sports captain.
The students showcased a Karate display mesmerizing the audience with their energetic performances. Numerous P.T exercises were displayed and it was a delight to feel the experience. The student s challenged themselves to attempt a variety of races, like 50m race, sack race, relay race, tug of war etc, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes.
Parents also got a chance to showcase their talent by participating in a tug-of-war which added to the enjoyment. The young achievers were also awarded the medals, gold, silver and bronze by the chief guest who highly appreciated each sports star.
Shriites participated in 14th National Matsogi-do-Championship held at Rajiv Gandhi National Stadium Delhi, and three of them named Harshita Choudhary got silver, Vahin Sushil Bhatti got bronze and Chitrakshi also got Bronze medal. The Students of NK, PK&BK participated in RUN FOR FUN (Shri Anandpravah )with great zeal, excitement and enthusiasm. The theme of the event was "Tales and Scales".Keeping in view the Shri philosophy interweaving curriculum with sports, Children participated in concept based races.
The Chief guest Chander Mohan Gupta,Mayor (Jammu Municipal Corporation J&K), Special Guest Deepak Pagotra (Chairman Municipal Corporation, Vijaypur), guest of honour Shashikant Lakhanpal(Lecturer Biology ) and Shotulal(Coach Fencing ), Bag Ali (Naib Tehsildar,Vijaypur), Sanjeev Gupta (Trustee) , Rajni Gupta (Director) and Ritula Singh (Principal) of the school were a part of festivities.
The Students of Class 1 participated in Concept based races and living up to the Shri way gave outstanding performances. Parents were also actively involved. While speaking to the gathering the Chief guest applauded the Shri‘s approach towards child development and specifically appreciated the fact that there was no competition between children. Each child was awarded a badge of "I am a Champion".
