Electrocuted PDD employee succumbs at GMC Jammu

BHADERWAH, Mar 18: A daily wage employee of Power Development Department (PDD), who was electrocuted on Monday afternoon and was airlifted to Jammu, succumbed to his injuries at Government Medical College (GMC) hospital Jammu Tuesday evening.
The daily wage employee received serious injuries due to an electric shock at Dandi area of Bhaderwah while repairing the HT electric line on Monday. The injured PDD employee was identified as Imran Ali son of Ali Mohammed resident of Haliyaan Bhaderwah.
While confirming the incident, SHO Bhaderwah Munir Khan said, “According to reports, the victim was repairing a transmission line of a High Tension (HT) pole at Dandi area of Bhaderwah when he received a shock and fell on the ground. Locals shifted him to Sub District Hospital Bhaderwah.”
According to reports, Rashtriya Rifles based at Bhaderwah immediately arranged for blood to the injured PDD employee as he was in need of A-ve blood, which was not available in the blood bank of hospital and army jawans reached the hospital and donated blood. Besides, army also coordinated in arranging chopper to airlift the injured employee to GMC Jammu.
According to reports, the injured employee succumbed to the injuries immediately after reaching GMC Jammu. A case has been registered at Police Station Bhaderwah and investigation was initiated.
