3 civilians injured in Cross-LoC shelling continues in Poonch

POONCH, Apr 12: Three civilians were injured as Pak Army violated ceasefire in Sawjiyan sector along LoC in Poonch on Friday.
The injured were identified as Tasvir Begum, daughter of Abdul Rasheed, Sabina Akhter daughter of Mumtaz Ahmed and Mohd Hesak son of Noor Mohd.
All the injured belong to Chaprian village of Sawjiyan sector in Poonch and they received injuries after some Pakistani shells landed in the residential areas. The Indian Army is retaliating beffitingly.
A police officer confirmed the injuries and said that both the girls were hospitalised.
The officer said, “Pakistani army violated ceasefire by targeting Indian Army’s posts in the area with mortar shells and small arms.”
He added that the soldiers manning the fence responded strongly. When last reports came in cross-border shelling was going on.
"At about 0830 hours, Pakistani Army initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by shelling with mortars and firing with small arms along the LoC in Swajian sector of Poonch," PRO defence said.
The Indian Army is effectively retaliating, he said. Pakistani troops last Friday resorted to firing and shelling along the LoC in forward area in Digwar sector, in which 3 persons suffered injuries.
