JAMMU, Jun 11: Pakistan on Tuesday violated the ceasefire by resorting to unprovoked firing targetting border out posts along International Border in Hiranagar sector of Kathua district.
BSF however, retaliated to the firing, said an official spokesman. He said that at around 1600 hours, Pakistan Rangers opened unprovoked intermittent firing of small arms towards Indian side.
“BSF troops retaliated the fire which was localised to a limited stretch in Hiranagar sector,” he said adding that no loss or damage of any kind occurred in the small arms firing by them. “The firing has stopped from both ends and no other area is affected as of now,” the BSF spokesperson said.
On Monday an army jawan was killed in mortar shelling and firing by the Pakistan army along the Line of Control in Shahpur sector of Poonch district.
