ADDC Reasi flags off vaccination drive

REASI, Jun 12: Additional District Development Commissioner Reasi, Ramesh Chander Tuesday flagged off vaccination drive against Foot and Mouth disease found in domestic animals. Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Ramesh Razdan was also present at the occasion.
Continuing the ongoing Foot & Mouth Disease Control Programme, the second-phase of vaccination programme was flagged off by Additional District Development Commissioner Reasi, Ramesh Chander from tehsil unit of Animal Husbandry Department, Reasi. Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Ramesh Razdan was also present at the event.
Braced with FMD vaccine in cool igloo boxes, field workers marched through Reasi town. Later four teams left for nearby villages of Vijaypur, Aghar Ballian, Gran More and Marhi for vaccination of cattle.
ADDC Ramesh chander exhorted the field workers to reach out to as many households as possible to eradicate any remaining traces of the disease. He also appreciated the sincere efforts of the CAHO and the department in helping eradicate the disease step by step.
Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Ramesh Razdan also cautioned the field workers to maintain cold chain and to ensure 100% vaccination.
