Abducted sister, brother-in-law of militant shot at after abduction

ANANTNAG, June 21: A couple abducted by unknown gunmen in Arwani village of Bijbehara were shot at and injured.
Nusrat and Mudasir Ahmad Makroo who happen to be the sister and brother-in-law of an active LeT militant, Nasir Ahmad were reportedly abducted on Thursday evening after being called out of their home by a group of gunmen.
Both the husband and wife, reports said, were freed on Friday after being shot.
Both of them, reports said, were found by some locals near the village graveyard. While as Mudasir, according to reports, had been shot in the leg, his wife had been fired upon in her foot.
The injured couple was immediately evacuated to nearby sub-district hospital Bijbehara for treatment.
Reports said, one of them was later referred to district hospital Anantnag on the basis of severity of the wounds.
However, official sources said, both the husband and wife are stable.
Though no top police official was available for comment, however, official sources and some reports said case has been registered into the incident.
"Police has registered a case into the abduction of couple and their release in an injured condition. We are investigating the case as to who had abducted them," a report quoting an official said.
