Dir Tourism flags off Bike rally from Basholi

KATHUA, June 22: The Director Tourism, Jammu, OP Bhagat flagged off a two day Mountain Terrain Bike Rally called the B3 MTB Challenge 2019 from the picturesque town of Basohli.
The adventure event is aimed at exploring the adventure potential of Basohli Bani Bhaderwah circuit. In a unique initiative, the Directorate of Tourism has organised the B3 MTB Challenge 2019 (Basohli Bani Bhaderwah Mountain Bike Rally) in collaboration with the JK Cycling Association and the Cycling Federation of India.
The event involves a two day cycling expedition through the Himalayas. The rally starts from an altitude of 1500 feet and will require cycling up to 10500 feet at the Chattergala mountain pass. The route is spread across the tourist destinations of Basholi Bani Development Authority and Bhaderwah Development Authority. The 165 km cycling expedition was flagged off from the backdrop of the Ranjeet Sagar lake at Basohli.
A total of 24 cyclists, which include 17 Cyclists from Chandigarh, Delhi and Kashmir, have been selected for the expedition. The second day of the rally shall be flagged off from the Bani hill station and will pass through Lowang and the beautiful valley of Sarthal, Chattergala mountain pass and will then enter Bhaderwah valley, finally culminating at the Teligarh Tourist Resort.
Those present at the flagging off ceremony included Tilak Raj, ADC, Basholi, Parul Bhardwaj, SDPO, Basohli and Shammi Sapolia, Chairman, Muncipal Committee Basholi. Also present were S.S Gill, Om Parkash, Ravi Salgotra, Tajinder Singh, Vikesh Sharma and Gurpreet Singh from the JK Cycling Association. The entire event has been organised under the overall supervision of Dr. Rajesh Raina, Nodal officer for the event.
