Teenager dies in Bhaderwah accident

RAJOURI, Jun 23: Seven persons died while two others got injured in a road accident after their tempo in which they were travelling fell into a gorge at Kewal Morh area under the jurisdiction of Budhal police station of Rajouri district Sunday evening.
In a similar kind of mishap in Doda district, a teenager was killed and another critically injured when their motorcycle fell into a deep gorge in Bhaderwah on Sunday.
In Rajouri, the accident took place this evening at around 4.15 PM when a tempo bearing registration number JK02AU 8910, on its way to Reasi Chassana from Rajouri, plunged in a 600-feet deep gorge at Kewal Morh village.
A large number of locals and police team headed by SHO Budhal Sanjay Raina rushed to the spot and rescue operation was launched in which locals played an important role. Seven persons were removed and shifted to Kandi CHC in critical condition. However official sources said that two passengers had died on the spot in this mishap.
Later five more injured succumbed to injuries while two injured are under treatment in Rajouri district hospital. “Two persons were found dead on the spot while the driver of the vehicle and two others succumbed to injuries on way to the hospital. Four injured were evacuated from the accident site and shifted to the hospital, out of them two more succumbed to their injuries,” an official said.
The deceased have been identified as Kulwant Singh son of Sukhdev Singh resident of Kangota Budhal, Mohammed Taj son of Mohammed Hussain resident of Topa Mendhar, Abdul Rashid son of Mohammed Iqbal resident of Darhal, Sunit Singh son of Chitar Singh resident of Tuli Reasi, his wife Kailash Devi resident of Tuli Reasi, Mohammed Manzoor son of Mohammad Din resident of Rajnagar Budhal and Mohammed Farooq son of Mohammed Rashid resident of Tuli Reasi.
Two injured, under treatment in Rajouri hospital, have been identified as Mohammed Azam and Mohammed Shakeel.
In Bhaderwah, a teenage boy was killed and another critically injured when their motorcycle fell into a deep gorge in Doda district. They were returning home from a picnic to Guldanda late on Saturday when the accident occurred. The deceased identified as Waseem Ahmad and his injured friend Sohail Ganai were students of higher secondary school Bhadarwah and both were 18 years old.
