Boy's body recovered from river

SRINAGAR, July 9: Body of a seven-year old boy was recovered from Kishanganga River near Achoora Sindiyal area of Gurez Valley in Bandipora district on today.
Officials said some locals spotted a body floating in the Kishanganga River near Achoora Sindiyal area of Gurez valley and accordingly police was informed about it.
“A police team rushed to the spot and retrieved the body from the river with the help of locals”, station house officer (SHO) Gurez Tariq Ahmad said. He said the body was taken to Gurez hospital for medico-legal formalities.
The deceased was identified as Abid Ahmad Sheikh, son of Nazir Ahmad Sheikh and is believed to be the resident of Minimarg Astoor area of Gilgit Baltistan of Pakistan.
Reports said he had gone missing while returning from School. They said it is suspected that he may have slipped and fallen in a tributary of Kishan Ganga River.
