Protest by APDP against enforced disappearances

SRINAGAR, Jul 10: Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons( APDP) today held a protest sit in here against the enforced disappearances.
The protestors were led by APDP chairperson Parveena Ahangar, who reiterated to carry forward the struggle of justice.
A number of men and women associated with APDP holding banners and placards demanded whereabouts of their kin who have been subjected to “enforced” disappearances in Kashmir.
The association registers its protest on 10th of every month to put forth their demands.
Parveena Ahanger said, “The government has failed to give us justice." She condemned the successive governments for being biased towards their pain and agony.
Parveena also hailed the UN office of the high commission for human rights on Jammu and Kashmir for its annual report on the “atrocities” done on Kashmiris.
The chairperson said APDP does not want anything else from the government, but only their dear ones back.
The family members of the disappeared person alleged that the government has failed to conduct an investigation in cases of enforced disappearances.
