SRINAGAR, Jul 11: Governor Satya Pal Malik today said no doubt security forces are working day and night for ensuring the smooth movement and security of Amarnath yatra but it is the local Kashmiri who makes the pilgrimage a success.
“Police and civil administration are making wonderful contributions by working day and night but it is the local Kashmiri who actually makes Yatra successful," governor said while talking to reporters.
“I have ordered setting up special camps for making available all essentials to Yatrais. People are very happy with the arrangement and I hope it remains the same till the last day of the Yatra”, he further added.
Pertinently, Hajj pilgrimage has coincided with Amarnath Yatra this year and on this governor Malik said, “Hajjis are leaving for Mecca and Yatris are coming to Amarnath Cave. For these Yatras we have to make necessary arrangements to make both smooth and hassle free. In this regard the traffic regulation orders were passed which don’t put blanket ban on public movement.”
When asked about the pendency of hundreds of files in GAD, governor said, “I am making efforts towards the transparency and accountability in the system. I am working in the direction to get an application developed so that the file movement can be easily tracked by public”.
While replying to the question that vigilance has produced the reports on many corruption cases and why action has not been taken, governor Malik said, “We are working on that”.
