Narcotic smuggler held in Katra

REASI, Jul 17: Katra police Wednesday arrested a narcotic smuggler and recovered 5.5 kg poppy straw.
“In continuation to the drive against drugs in Katra town today during checking and frisking at Nomain check post one truck bearing Registration no. JK02AN 6557 coming from Domail towards katra was stopped. While checking 5.5 kg of poppy straw was recovered from the possession of driver namely Gurbachan Singh son of Baldev Singh resident of Bhabber Brahmana, Derra Baba, Reasi,” said a police spokesperson.
In this regard case FIR No 173/2019 u/s 8/15 NDPS was registered at Police Station Katra. The whole operation was conducted under the supervision of SDPO Katra Vivek Shekhar, ASP Katra Naresh Singh and SSP Reasi Nisha Nathyal,” he added.
