SRINAGAR, July 17: Former minister and senior leader Mohammad Khalil Bhand today resigned from the basic membership of PDP.
In a letter, Khalil Bhand outlined how the party compromised on its basic principles after demise of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and that veteran faces were sidelined in decision making process. He also talked about “series of self destructive decisions taken at behest of the vested interests”.
He outlined that voices of experienced and wisdom were neglected and humiliated and the manner in which he found himself suffocated during the tenure of former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti.
It is worth mentioning here that Khalil Bhand is founder member of PDP and is a veteran political figure from the turmoil hit South Kashmir, having looked after key portfolios.
Khalil Bhand expressed gratitude to the great support given to him by his beloved workers and vowed to never let down them.
Khalil Bhand reaffirmed that in the larger interests of his workers and emotions of people he is left with no option but to say goodbye to the party.
