CHANDIGARH, Aug 13(Agencies): Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Tuesday sternly told Pakistan Minister Fawad Chaudhry to not interfere in India’s internal matter after he made a provocative statement about the Indian army.
Amarinder, who served in the Indian army in the 1960s, while slamming Fawad Chaudhry's appeal to Punjabi soldiers to deny duty in Kashmir, told him that his provocative statement would not work.
“Stop trying to interfere in India’s internal matter. And let me tell you that the Indian Army is a disciplined and nationalist force, unlike your Army@fawadchaudhry. Your provocative statement will not work, nor will the soldiers in our Army follow your divisive diktats,” he said in a tweet.
On Tuesday, Pakistan's motor-mouth science minister Fawad Chaudhry wrote on Twitter, "I appeal to all Punjabis in Indian army to refuse to be part of injustice and deny duty in Kashmir."
Captain Amarinder Singh, an army man himself, came down heavily on Fawad Chaudhry and warned him against interfering in India's internal matter.
Pakistan has been on edge ever since India announced the abrogation of Article 370 and the bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union territories.
Repeatedly slamming India for the move, Pakistan has tried to call international attention to the situation in Kashmir but has failed to garner any support.
After India revoked Jammu and Kashmir's special status, Pakistan announced that it will approach the UN Security Council against New Delhi's decision.
India has categorically told the international community that its move to scrap Article 370 of the Constitution removing the special status to Jammu and Kashmir is an internal matter and has also advised Pakistan to "accept the reality."
