Practical remedial-measures increasing purchase-power necessary for boosting economy rather than cosmetic reforms
Kashmir Times. Dated: 9/17/2019 11:39:52 PM
Dear Editor,
Union Finance Minister in her frequent and regular press-conference (third in series) on 14.09.2019 announced heavy grants to boost reality and export sector. Such heavy grants rather may prove injurious for public ultimately because burden on public-exchequer may increase tax or budget-deficit thus further hurting members of public through price-rise. But no such measures including previously announced for automobile-sector can boost economy unless practical steps are taken to increase purchasing-power of members of public.
Since wholesale and retail trade contributes maximum 28-percent to Indian economy apart from generating huge employment in private-sector, wholesale and retail trade should be encouraged which has suffered a major setback from on-line trade. Central government should take stringent-most steps to discourage and restrict on-line trade which otherwise also at times has fraud malpractices injurious for consumer-interest.
