Life affected for 70th day in Kashmir due to shutdown

SRINAGAR, Oct 13: Normal life was affected for 70th consecutive day today in Kashmir due to a spontaneous shutdown.
The shutdown continues since August 5 when the articles 370 and 35 A were scrapped and J&K state converted in two union territories.
Shops and other business establishments were closed. However, business activity was seen in Sunday market from TRC to Lal Chowk. Foot path vendors had set up their vendors and were selling various items.
Public transport continued off the roads. However, private vehicles plied on roads.
The shops open for some hours in the morning in some areas. Today it being Sunday the government offices were closed and so were the educational institutions.
