CEC flags off first batch of 2020 Chadar trek tourists

LEH, Jan 6: The first batch of tourists for Chadar Trek 2020 was flagged off today by the Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Leh Gyal P Wangyal from Tourist Information Centre, Leh.
Interacting with the media persons, CEC Wangyal said that this year elaborate arrangements have been made by the administration of LAHDC, Leh to facilitate tourists coming for famous Chader Trek in Leh. He said that facilities like mobile wireless handsets for communication, two rescue Helipads to tackle emergency cases, deployment of SDRF teams along the trekking route, role of Indian Air Force in case of emergency, regulating of waste by Wild Life Department were already put in place for 2020 Cadar trek. CEC Wangyal also interacted with the tourists and wished them safe and joyful Chadar trek. Wangyal also inspected ongoing registration and mandatory medical checkup for tourists going for Chadar trek at TIC Leh.
Today on the first day of Chadar Trek around 90 tourists left for this adventurous trek. Today, till afternoon about 205 tourists have gone through mandatory medical checkup out of which more than 100 have registered themselves for Charder Trek at TIC Leh.
CMO, Leh Dr Motup Dorjey, President ALTOA Tsetan Wangchuk and large number of tourists and Chader Trekking guides were present on the occasion.
