Accident fire during search operation

SRINAGAR, Feb 23: Two soldiers were injured in accidental fire during a cordon and search operation in Pulwama district.
Reports said after receiving inputs about the presence of militants at Tikan village of Pulwama, soldiers from 55 Rashtriya Rifles laid a siege around a vast orchard adjacent to village. During the search operation, the rifle of a soldier went off resulting in the bullet injuries of two soldiers.
The injured soldiers were identified as Simath Kumar and Vinay Kumar who were shifted to Srinagar based 92 Base Army Hospital.
After the incident, the operation was called off.
