Chhattisgarh govt does not care for RTI Act, 2005

Kashmir Times. Dated: 2/27/2020 9:20:18 PM

Dear Editor,
I filed an RTI application dated 06.01.2020 with Directorate of Sports & Youth Welfare (Chhattisgarh). But till now, there is no response. Concerned ones in Chhattisgarh government should immediately take action so that RTI application dated 06.01.2020 may be immediately responded with sought and related documents but now to be provided free-of-cost under section 7(6) of RTI Act. Response is likely to reveal massive irregularities in allocation of funds by Directorate of Sports & Youth Welfare (Chhattisgarh).
Even though Congress party boasts for implementation of RTI Act, 2005 in the country, yet states ruled by Congress party are amongst the worst in implementing the transparency Act, 2005. There is still no provision of filing on-line RTI applications in the state of Chhattisgarh.
Secondly while there is absolutely no RTI fees (and postal-charges) fixed for filing first appeals and second appeals with public-authorities under central government, state of Chhattisgarh require RTI fees of rupees 50 and 100 respectively for filing First and Second Appeals respectively that too with additional rupees 25 required as postal-charges with First Appeals and Second Appeals. Chhattisgarh government should follow Central Government by not having any additional RTI fees and postal-charges with First and Second Appeals.
