ANANTNAG, Feb 27: Defying the government orders about reopening of schools in the valley, a leading private school in Anantnag continues to remain shut leaving the parents fuming.
All the government run and private schools in the valley reopened on February 24 after over the two month winter break with authorities asking the management of private schools to strictly follow the government orders.
However in Anantnag, a leading private school, SIDRAH Institute of Education, located in Pehru area of the town has announced to keep the school shut till March 2 openly violating the government directive.
The authoritative decision of the school management has left the parents angered and surprised.
Scores of parents who spoke to Kashmir Times complained that the school management is not giving any damn about the orders of the government. "I think this is the only school in the valley which continues to be shut despite the end of winter break. Schools were supposed to reopen on February 24 but the school management phoned and informed us a day before that our school will reopen on 2nd March," said a parent, Manzoor Ahmad whose son studies in Class 8.
Many parents after being informed about the closure of schools till March 2 have been repeatedly calling the principal of the school but to their surprise he is not responding to their calls.
"After someone from the school informed us about the school not reopening on March 24, since then we have been calling the owner of the school to know the reason for keeping the school shut but irony is that he does not bother to respond to our calls," Ahmad said.
