79 medical students complete quarantine at Pahalgam, return home

ANANTNAG, Apr 4: At least 73 persons who completed their 14-day quarantine period in luxury JKTDC huts in Pahalgam and Trauma hospital Bijbehara were sent back to their homes on Saturday.
At least 152 persons most of them medical students had been put on quarantine at the health resort after their return from Bangladesh and other countries.
Block medical officer, Mattan, Dr Mohammad Saleem Beg who is monitoring the quarantine facilities of the students in Pahalgam said that at least seventy persons mostly students were sent back to their homes today after they completed their 14 days quarantine period.
"All of them were hale and hearty and had not developed any symptoms during during the quarantine period. They were also happy with the facilities provided to them during this period. They left their homes happily today," BMO said.
He said they were allowed to go home only after the doctors examined them and certified that they were in good health.
Though, two students had developed some mild flu like symptoms but both of them got well soon after medication prescribed by the doctors deputed there.
Chief medical officer, Anantnag said that none of the students who were quarantined at Pahalgam needed to be tested for Corona virus as all of them were quite well.
"Samples of only three persons, two of whom were quarantined at Trauma hospital Bijbehara and one at Kokernag had been taken for evaluation but thank God all the three tested negative," CMO said.
CMO said that around fifty more students will complete their quarantine period tomorrow and they too will be allowed to go back to their homes.
Some of the students after leaving the quarantine facility at Pahalgam expressed satisfaction over the facilities provided to them by the authorities.
"We were provided much better facilities than our homes during the quarantine period. All these days we were served best and hygienic food. Besides rooms were also spacious and bedding comfortable. It was a wonderful experience to spend these at the health resort like Pahalgam," a group of students said over phone.
