MENDHAR, Dec 8: An Army jawan was injured in mysterious landmine blast along the Line of Control (LoC) in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district.
Official sources said a landmine blast took place this morning at 10 AM along LoC near Salotri forward Post in which an army trooper deputed with 3 Grenadier was injured. The Injured jawan has been identified as Sepoy Rajeev Kumar of Unna Himachal.
His colleague immediately rescued him and shifted him to Unit Dispensary from where doctors referred him to Military Hospital Poonch. He was later airlifted to Command Hospital Udhampur for advanced treatment.
This is fourth mine blast incident in the same area since last one week. On Friday last, Constable Harinder Singh and Saturday Sub Inspector Kalu Ram both posted with 135 Battalion BSF were injured in similar landmine blasts. Yesterday, Naik Sanjeev Singh was injured in landmine explosion.
Intelligence sources claimed that the landmines have been laid by intruders ahead of fence and between LoC during their infiltration bids recently and this information has been shared with concerned army units but during ceasefire violations and infiltration bids, the army jawans move forward to keep track on the intruders and they fell prey of the landmines laid by the militants, sources added.
