‘Even NC supporters did not cast vote in favour of their party’

SRINAGAR, May 3: Terming the allegations levelled by National Conference leader wild and void, Congress today asked NC leadership should find out first whether their own workers cast out their votes in favour of their candidate or not and only then raise finger on Congress party.
“Please tell National Conference to find out how many of their workers came out to vote in South Kashmir on April 24. And tell them also whether those NC workers who came out to vote really cast their vote in favour of NC or they pressed the baton for the other party,” Congress party senior leader Ghulam Ahmed Mir told a local news agency, CNS, adding that Congress will prove its point on May 16 when the results be out.
Pertinently, National Conference legislator Dr Shiekh Mustafa Kamal had claimed its coalition partner Congress will again go for the cross-voting as it did in South Kashmir’s Anantnag on April 24. Without naming Ghulam Ahmed Mir, Kamal had said that one of the Congress leader from South Kashmir was adamant to field a Congress candidate in Kashmir and when he failed, he showed resentment.
Mir asked Kamal to check himself in whose favour NC workers cast vote in South Kashmir. “I am sure he will not blame Congress party after checking facts,” he said.
Mir said Congress party whole-heartedly supported the coalition candidates in every Parliamentary constituency and it reached out to the people of Valley the way it had never done before. “We do not believe in blame game but everything will be clear on May 16 when results will be out,” he said, adding, “You do not need a mirror to see the things that are visible.”
