Kundal seeks registration of case against culprits

JAMMU, Oct 6: Strongly condemning the murderous assault on an Scheduled Caste youth, Bishan Dass in a Ramnagar Temple by BJP goons , Jammu and Kashmir National Panther Party (NPP) leader and former MLA Samba Yash Paul Kundal sought registration of case against the culprits under prevention of Atrocities on SCs Act.
Kundal said that despite the innocent youth having been assaulted, abused and mercilessly beaten by the anti national elements in Sitla Mata Mandir Balot, Rasli Thakrai village of Tehsil Ramnagar, the concerned police officers have enlarged the culprits on bail without arresting them. He regretted that influenced by political bosses of the criminals who claimed to be BJP workers and favourites of MLA Ramnagar, the police slapped only minor offences including sec 147, 336 and 323 of RPC against the accused.
Seeking the registration of cases under sec 307 for attempt to Murder and atrocities on SCs, Kundal cautioned the authorities not to shield the criminals at the behest of notorious politicians.
Referring to increased crime against Dalits in the state, Kundal said that Ramnagar constituency topped the list of areas with respect to atrocities on such deprived communities. He added that only a few months back, a procession of SCs led by Des Raj in support of their demand for reservation in promotions was attacked by BJP goons in Ramnagar.
He further said that none was arrested with a BJP worker namely Rahul son of Varinder Singh merely giving an apology letter to the police and the matter was closed. He added that last month a female SC teacher was assaulted in Ramnagar but the matter was hushed up due to political influence. He further deplored that seven un-explained deaths of scheduled castes had been reported from Ramnagar during the last 18 months with not a single murder solved and none apprehended.
He further urged for the personal intervention of the Governor and Chief Minister into the heinous attack on the poor SC youth and demanded an enquiry by constituting a SIT into all cases of atrocities against SCs in Ramnagar during the last 20 months.
