Restrictions in Srinagar parts today

SRINAGAR, July 20: The authorities have decided to impose restrictions in the areas falling under the eight police stations of Srinagar city tomorrow as a precautionary measure.
The separatists have called for shutdown and a march to UN military observers office at Sonawar tomorrow against killings and other atrocities by security forces in Kashmir. Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was placed under house arrest today. Other leaders Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Shabir Ahmad Shah continue under house arrest.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Farooq Ahmad Lone said restrictions under Section 144 Cr PC will be imposed in areas falling under the jurisdiction of Khanyar, Nowhatta, Rainawari, M R Gunj, Safakadal, Maisuma, Kralkhud and Ram Munshi Bagh police stations.
He said restrictions will be imposed as a “precautionary measure”.
