MAM College to take on Kathua College in Inter Collegiate Hockey final on today

JAMMU, Nov 9: Govt MAM College Jammu will take on GDC Kathua in the final of the Inter Collegiate Hockey Tournament for men organiszed by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu at University Hockey Field were played.
In the first semi-final match of the day Govt. MAM College Jammu beat MBS College of Engineering & Technology by 4-2 goals. Both the teams exhibited good game.
Gurpreet Singh scored three goals for the MAM College team in the 2nd, 14th and 15th minutes of the match and the fourth goal was scored by Hash Vaid in the 44th minute.
For MBS College team both the goals were scored by the Sarabjot Singh in the 38th& 40th minutes.
The second semi final match was played between the teams of Govt S.P.M.RCollege of Commerce and GDC Kathua which was won by the GDC Kathua by 5-2 goals.
Randeep Singh(19th& 55thmins.), Jagandeep Singh(35th& 45thmins.) and Sandeep Singh (40th min.)scored the goals for the GDC Kathua team.
For Govt SPMR College of Commerce team Jaskirat Singh and Balmeet Singh scored the goals in the 17th and 51stmins. Respectively.
Before the start of the match, Prof Avtar Singh Jasrotia Director Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu interacted with the players of both the teams and tossed the coin to start the match.
Those present on the occasion included Prof Kuldeep Singh, Sumnesh Sharma, Prof Shrikant Sharma, Prof Joginder Kumar, Ravish Vaid, Gagan Kumar, Vikas Karlopia, Dr Brij Baloria, Ramesh Magotra, Dr Pritam Singh, Dr Kamaldeep Singh and Rajinder Singh.
The matches were officiated by Motinderpal Singh, Karanjeet Singh, J.S.Reen, Harmeek Singh ,Harinderpal Singh, Ranveet Singh and P.D.Singh.
The final match will be played tomorrow at 11.45 a.m. at the same venue between the teams of the MAM College and GDC Kathua.
Cricket (Men) : GDC Akhnoor was defeated by ASCOMS,Sidhra, the ASCOMS,Sidhra won the toss and elected to field first. The GDC Akhnoor scored 104 runs in 17 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. ASCOMS scored 105 runs in 14.5 overs for the loss of 06 wickets. ASCOMS,b Sidhra won the match by 04 wickets.
Weightlifting (Men): The Inter-Collegiate Weightlifting (Men) Championship 2017-18 started at Police Stadium, Gulshan Ground.
