KV-2 celebrates its annual Sports Day
JAMMU, Dec 5: Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2, Akhnoor celebrated its 32nd Annual Sports Day with much enthusiasm, energy and excitement in the school ground on the second day of the current week. The function was graced by Lt. Col. Shaily Malhotra of 610 EME Battalion who was also the chief guest of the occasion.

A bright sunny weather in winter was possibly the best gift that Mother Nature could give the KVians. The festive look of the school added to the over-all grandeur of the occasion. The much-awaited day of the year brought all the students, teachers and the Principal Didar Singh to the playground.

The day took off with a wonderful welcome dance presented by the students of the primary section. The Chief Guest and the Principal, then, took the salute of the impressive march past done by the students of the four houses of the school, viz., Shivaji, Tagore, Ashoka and Raman. The declaration of the Sports Meet done by the chief guest marked the beginning of the competitions.

Three-legged race, sack race, spoon and lemon race, 80 mts race , 100mts, 200 mts., 4x100 relay race, etc were some of the competitions that the spectators witnessed amidst cheering crowd. The crowd supported their favourite participants by clapping and shouting. Later, the prizes were distributed among the winners by the Lt. Col. Shaily Malhotra. She also blessed and motivated the school children by sharing her valuable thoughts.

The function ended with everyone taking part in the National Anthem. In this way came to an end a day filled with excitement and emotions.
