Non-availability of water in Bhalwal

Kashmir Times. Dated: 12/9/2017 10:38:27 PM

Dear Editor,
The PHE department day in and day out are making tall claims of supplying water at door steps in every nook and corner of the state but on ground the situation is quite contrary to their claims, in many areas the water is not being supplied for days together due to which the people are suffering multiple types of problems.
In village Bhalwal in particular the water is supplied from Pata (Barn) pumping station. The tap water is supplied in highly irregular manner, as of now in Bhalwal, Mandi in Jammu tehsil the water has not been supplied for more than fifteen days as such the people living there are being made to suffer undue hardships to meet their bare minimum daily needs so much so that they men, women and children have to go to answer the call of nature be the open fields. This negates the nation-wide campaign of central government of “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” and though the toilets have been built in the village but the people cannot use the same because the water is not available in the village. Some inhabitants have approached the Asstt. Executive Engineer PHE, Bhalwal, concerned with supplying of water in the village Bhalwal but his response was evasive.
Then they approached the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Bhalwal he however, assured to look into the matter but upto this day the water has not been supplied in the village and the inhabitants continue to suffer multiple types of problems unduly.
