Family demands whereabouts of missing son

SRINAGAR, Nov 1: Demanding whereabouts of their missing son, a family from Khanyar area of Srinagar on Thursday protested against the mysterious disappearance of an undergraduate student of Sharda University from New Delhi.
The family members said Ahtisham an undergraduate student at Sharda University Greater Noida went missing on 26th of last month from the national capital.
The slogan shouting family members of the missing students including his parent’s had appeared at Press Enclave to protest against his disappearance in mysterious circumstances.
“I called him up at 5pm on 26th of October and he informed me that he along with his friends have gone for an outing as their exams are finished. He also said that he will send his pictures of the places he visit during outing,” said Bilal Ahmad father of Ahtisham.
The visibly perturbed father of missing youth said when he again tried to contact him in the evening; his cell phone was off and could not be contacted since then.
Bilal Ahmad alleged that his son was beaten mercilessly by some locals after group clashes broke out between Afghani and local student of Sharda University few days before his disappearance.
“There are some reports that Ahtisham was last seen in Sopore, I refute these reports as baseless. Both state and Delhi police is looking for Ahtisham and I appeal the authorities to trace out my son,” he said.
Shabnum a relative of the missing Ahtisham said that his mother has been in the state of shock ever since she was informed that her son is missing.
“His cousin brother had also called him and he had said that he will board a metro to reach the hostel. He disappeared in thin air,” she added.
The protesting family members appealed Delhi and state police chiefs to expedite investigations into the mysterious disappearance of their son who was reported missing from New Delhi since October 26.
