Boy injured with stone at Habbakadal

SRINAGAR, Jan 22: A teenage boy who was allegedly hit with stone by a paramilitary CRPF personnel today outside his home in Habbakadal area of the Srinagar city is battling for life at SHMS hospital here.
Fifteen years old boy, Mohammad Younis Fafoo son of Bashir Ahmad of Habbakadal was admitted at SMHS after a CRPF personnel hit his head with stone leaving him critically injured.
Locals said that the teenager fell unconscious after a stone was thrown at his head by a CRPF personnel stationed at a nearby camp in the locality.
They said Fafoo was immediately rushed to the hospital where he was admitted for serious head injuries.
The family members of the teenage boy said he had gone to the market to get medicine from a nearby medical shop when the incident took place.
Doctors treating Younis, who has been kept under observation at SMHS hospital, said that his skull has suffered fracture. However, he is out of danger.
Father of Younis, Bashir Ahmad a fruit seller said his son had gone to the market to get some necessary medicine for his mother who underwent three surgeries in her head recently.
“He is our lone son; I was informed by other family members and locals about the incident as I was busy with work. A CRPF personnel has hit bricks on his head back to back which lead to grave injury. This is what locals who are witness to the fact told me,” said Bashir Ahmad.
Locals said the teenage youth after being attacked by the erring CRPF personal fell in a pool of blood and was later removed to the hospital by a woman traveling in auto-rickshaw.
“A woman traveling in an auto-rickshaw, when she found him lying in a pool of blood, took him to the hospital in the same auto she had boarded. We are very thankful to the lady for taking him to the hospital without wasting time,” Bashir Ahmad added.
